Wiki / Roadmap
Where IdleWorlds is going.
This roadmap is built from your threads in the Discord #suggestions and #bugs channels, which we sweep every few days. Each thread gets marked done, planned, reviewed or declined, and this page is the plan behind those marks. Dates aren't promised: priorities move with what players run into. For what already changed, see the patch notes.
Last updated October 17, 2026.
The principles behind the plan
Idle-first
Nothing should punish you for being away. Offline time is progress.
Crafting stays relevant
A maxed crafted piece is the baseline at every tier. Drops are sidegrades with a purpose; raid gear is the top.
Every skill is equal
The same +skill ceiling, work orders and turn-ins for every profession.
Support never buys power
The shop sells looks, race changes and boosts for the whole server, never stats.
Standard and SSF both matter
Self-found players get their own paths, raids and results.
Built with the community
Most items on this page started as a Discord thread.
Recently shipped (October 2026)
ShippedThe last few weeks, so you can see where the plan below picks up.
Raids
Guild raids
Ashmaw, Thessaly, Morwenna and Grimjaw, with Normal and Hard modes, weekly loot, raid set bonuses, lends and a group finder. Skarth, the Rime Wyrm, is open for Practice.
Raid wiki →Helper rewards
Re-running a boss you already looted this week now pays the helpers: shards, XP potions or a supply cache.
Raidforged gear
Crafted from raid shards, with Crit Chance.
Ashmaw at Combat 40
The first boss opens 10 levels earlier so newer players can join raid groups.
Raid nights on Discord
Scheduled raids get a sign-up thread and a Discord event. Raid results are tagged [Standard] or [SSF].
Gear and progression
Gear Score
Every stat on an item added up into one number, on tooltips, in the loadout editor and on the wiki.
Gear Score →Item Level
Tier 21–34 gear needs far less Combat: +2 levels per tier instead of +4 (Tier 25 went from 89 to 79). Uniques are placed by how strong they are.
+11 for every skill
Gloves +4, a new profession trinket +2 and village buildings +5. 8 new trinkets drop from the Zone 18–23 special enemies.
+Skill Levels →Loadout editor
Shows every stat, set bonuses, upgrades, gems, village buildings and active enchants, so its totals match your profile.
The world
Hollow Night
The Halloween event: trick-or-treat knocks, Hollow Scrolls and the Hollow Rally, until October 31.
Work Order Board
Bounties and work orders in one grid, priced by real crafting time for every profession.
The Activity panel
Your character, wearing your gear, in an animated scene for what you're doing.
The Shop, Embers and the Patron Pass
New ways to support the game that don't sell power. Plus the Giant race and many new name styles.
New skill layout (beta)
Skill tabs, zone guidance and loadout-aware actions. Opt in from Settings.
Building now
In progressActively in development or in review.
Itemization through Tier 34
Complete loot for Zones 23–34
Every late zone gets a full set of uniques, a resist-gated special enemy with its own drops, and an ultra-rare. The resist gate climbs every 3 zones. New uniques are built to be sidegrades with a clear purpose next to crafted +4 gear, not flat upgrades. In review now.
Item Level for the new loot
Every new piece gets its level from its Gear Score against crafted +4, exactly like today's uniques.
Community
Discord account linking and roles
Link your game account in Settings and get matching Discord roles: Supporter, Patron, your Zone Control team, raid Slayer roles, Combat 70+ and event roles, kept in sync automatically.
New skill layout
Folding in beta feedback before it becomes the default.
Next up
NextAlready scoped from your #suggestions and #bugs threads; these are the next to be built.
Raid balance
Cleanse overheal becomes a shield
A cleanse on a topped-up target shouldn't be wasted. Being tested in the raid simulator first.
Rend scales with Woodcutting
So a Woodcutting lend is worth more than pure ATK.
Class check
Smithing, Tailoring and Reinforce lends checked in the simulator, plus dodging tanks and AoE.
Leaders can request lends
A raid leader can ask for or assign lend skills inside the group.
Loadouts and Zone Control
Empty slot = unequip
A loadout can leave a slot empty on purpose, plus a one-tap switch.
Zone Control checks your stats
Your fight stops if your ATK or DEF drops below the zone's requirement.
Zone Control XP check
Verifying ZC XP against regular fights from Tier 4 up.
Chat and performance
Compact system messages
No more header line on every system message, and consecutive messages grouped.
Group chat on the front page
Raid and pickup group messages visible in the main chat window.
Lighter interface clock
Moving the clock that redraws the whole screen into small pieces, the root of most client-side slowness.
Planned: quality of life and targeted balance
PlannedSmaller items we've agreed to do. Order inside this list isn't fixed.
Market
Price filter and page jump
Find listings by price and jump straight to a page.
Reprice buy orders
Listings can already be repriced; buy orders will match.
One per buyer
An option to limit a listing to one per buyer.
Skills and queue
Reorder and favourite skills
Arrange the skills panel and skill actions your way.
Queue priority
Promote a queued task to run next.
World boss pre-join pauses crafts
Instead of cancelling them.
Pre-join one Zone Control battle
Queue up for the next ZC battle ahead of time, like world bosses.
Reorder village add-ons and bank withdrawals
With arrows, like the queue.
Balance
Jewelcrafting XP
Prospecting cost versus XP per action.
Secondary skill wall
The secondary skill requirement shrinks as tiers go up.
Crafting time pass
A pass over crafted-gear craft times.
Item Find on rare thread drops
Silkbind thread drops get Item Find.
Brewing crits
A small chance to brew an extra potion.
Clarity
"Gather Rate"
Clearer wording for 2x Gather.
Zone announcements in team chat
Zone Control news where your team will see it.
Resettable win-rate and XP estimates
So the estimate settles quickly after a gear change.
More "where it drops" on the wiki
Every item page tells you where to get it.
Big designs
Needs designLarge features that need a design pass before building. Expect these to change shape as we go.
Guilds
Guild Hall and treasury
A shared gold treasury with a deposit log, Guild Levels 1–10 from Guild XP, and a Guild Hall screen. Each level unlocks a building slot and a perk.
Guild buildings
Built with Construction parts and gold, with perks for every member: Workshop (crafting speed), Warehouse (bank slots), Training Yard (combat XP), Hall of Heroes (raid buffs), Market Stall (lower fees), Shrine (daily buff).
Weekly guild objectives
Three shared goals a week (turn in ore, craft gems, beat a raid boss, win ZC hits). Rewards go to the guild and to everyone who contributed.
Guild vs Guild sieges
Weekly and opt-in, resolved over a timed window like Zone Control, with matchmaking so small guilds aren't farmed. Cosmetic and leaderboard stakes first.
Bigger guilds and guild tags
Room for newer players and an optional guild tag in chat.
Raids
The next raid tier
Crafted +4 gear at Tier 23+ is catching up with raid gear, so a new tier of bosses and loot is needed for players in Zones 25–28.
Raid scheduling in the game
Planned raids with a start time and sign-ups in the group finder, with an optional Discord ping. Helps players outside North American hours.
Zone Control
Zone Control rework
A tug-of-war ward meter, a daily reset rush, fairer matchups for new players, world boss participation in the ZC bonus, and guild dominance.
Upgrades and crafting
Upgrade luck relief
Extra orbs for better odds (capped), bad-luck protection, orb fusion (3 lower orbs into 1 higher) and craftable orbs.
Sockets on crafted gear
Gem sockets for smithed gear.
Cloak +4 rerolls and belt upgrades
More ways to improve the slots people set and forget.
High-tier gear pass
Late-game set bonuses that feel worth chasing.
Economy and content
Work order extras
Special work orders, a work order bonus, trading work order gold for XP, and self-found-only orders.
More for gatherers and alchemists
Potions of Gathering, condensed XP potions, an Alchemy expansion, rare finds while mining, and uses for Silkbind and salvage.
Gem rerolls and gem extraction holidays
Housing
More rooms and add-on slots, and village skill buildings.
Fair starts
More zone unlock options for skillers, and a travelling vendor for SSF.
Social and collection
Server events
Randomised events, small weekend events and community projects everyone contributes to.
World boss reward tiers
Rewards that scale with how much you contributed.
Collection log
Track every item you've ever found.
Pets
Ultra-rare cosmetic companions, each with a title.
Friends list and grid inventory
A friends list, and an opt-in grid-style inventory.
Exploring
ExploringIdeas we like that are too big for now. No promises on these.
Ideas
World map and exploration
A map of the world to travel and discover.
A Magic skill
A new skill of its own.
Event Realms
Time-limited leagues with their own rules.
Junior Adventurers
A new system for helping new characters along.
Trader's Token on the market
Whether tokens should be tradable.
Not planned
Not plannedIdeas we've decided against, with the reason. Each thread on Discord has the full answer.
Decided
Buying power
Nothing in the shop makes you stronger. Purchases are looks and boosts for the whole server.
Gambling mechanics
No paid randomness.
Anything that punishes idle play
No ambushes and no cuts to offline gains.
A flatter XP curve
It would break catch-up for everyone behind.
Pooling skills in a guild
It would skip the skill walls the game is built on.
Selling salvage to the vendor
Salvage is a gold sink by design.
Resist potions as raid loot
Resist comes from gear, so gear choice keeps mattering.
More Gold Find
Gold Find already crowds out other stats, so new items won't add it.
Kept as intended
Drop broadcasts stay, rare gear stays un-upgradable, the Conqueror set stays as is.
Have an idea?
Post it as a thread in #suggestions on the IdleWorlds Discord. Every thread gets read and answered, and the good ones end up on this page.
