Wiki / Apex Zone Drops
22 endgame uniques across Zones 18–21.
Each of Zones 18, 19 and 20 has a secondary enemy — a harder alternate fight gated behind an elemental resistance — with its own 5-item drop pool, completely separate from that zone's primary-enemy uniques. Zone 21 (Gravite) adds 7 more. Every piece beats its same-tier +3 enhanced crafted equivalent on raw ATK/DEF.
All 22 are fixed-stat: they cannot be upgraded or socketed. Gem sockets remain crafted gear's advantage — these trade that flexibility for stats and effects crafted gear can't get. Seven of them form Elementbound, and all seven Zone 21 pieces form Juggernaut's Resolve.
How the secondary enemies work
A secondary enemy has the same recommended ATK/DEF as its zone's primary enemy, but demands 30 resistance of its element. Meet it and the fight performs identically to the primary enemy. Fall short and its elemental attacks turn your defences against you, scaling smoothly with how far under you are:
- • Bypass up to 50% of your armour — DEF stops mitigating the damage.
- • Cut your dodge chance by up to 75% — you can't evade what you can't resist.
- • Cut your critical hit chance by up to 75% — the elemental aura disrupts your strikes.
All three are at full strength at zero resistance and fade to nothing as you approach 30. This is deliberately harsh on high-DEF builds: DEF normally does triple duty (mitigation, dodge, and the HP comparison that decides a drawn fight), so a penalty that only touched damage was nearly invisible to a well-geared player. Even a heavily overgeared character will lose most fights at zero resistance — and it is never a guaranteed loss, so you can still chip at an enemy while you gear up.

Elementbound — 7 pieces, any 6 activates
+12 DEF · +12 Fire Resist · +12 Frost Resist · +12 Lightning Resist
The pieces are spread across all three elemental zones, so completing it means fighting every secondary enemy — you cannot farm one zone for it.
This is what makes it worth chasing: a single piece only covers one element, so without the set you would have to regear between zones. Six pieces grant +12 of all three resists at once, and stacked on the pieces' own mixed resists that clears the 30 threshold for all three enemies simultaneously. The set is assembled out of the exact content it neutralizes.
| Piece | Slot | From |
|---|---|---|
| Cindersteel Warblade | weapon | Zone 18 |
| Warlord's Bulwark | shield | Zone 18 |
| Cinderthrone Striders | boots | Zone 18 |
| Hoarfrost Mantle | chest | Zone 19 |
| Rimeguard Legplates | legs | Zone 19 |
| Stormforged Visor | helmet | Zone 20 |
| Runewright's Grips | gloves | Zone 20 |
7 pieces across 7 distinct slots means one slot of choice — you pick which 6 to run.
Juggernaut's Resolve — 6 pieces, any 6 activates
+25 ATK · +12 Warfare · +20% gold find
Every piece comes from Zone 21, so unlike Elementbound this is a single-zone completion goal — one very hard zone instead of three.
It deliberately grants no resistances. Elementbound gets you into the hard content; Juggernaut's Resolve makes you win harder inside it. Its +12 Warfare matches the Conqueror's set's full set bonus, so it doubles as top-tier Zone Control gear while also being real endgame armour.
💎 Secondary enemies also drop gems
Separately from the uniques above, every win against a Zone 18–20 secondary enemy has a 1 in 4,000 chance — scaled by your Item Find % — to drop a raw gem. This uses the exact same pool and weighting as Zone Control: tiers 5 through 17, weighted toward the lower tiers (tier 5 is about 13× as likely as tier 17).
Zone Control keeps double the rate (1 in 2,000) on that same pool, since it is the less accessible mode and demands a more active playstyle.
"While battling the [enemy], [you] looted a [gem] from the enemy's corpse."
What makes these different
Stats crafted gear can't get
Bonus Enhance / Brew / Enchant on armour. Previously only on Grimsby's weapons and shields, which forced crafters to give up a real weapon slot. Now on gloves and a trinket, so it stacks with your actual gear.
Profession levels off the gloves slot. The only other items granting skill levels are the seven world-boss gloves.
Weapons with real DEF. Every crafted weapon in the game is fixed at 0 defence.
Warfare outside the Conqueror's set. Zone-Control-only ATK on regular endgame gear.
Deliberate limits
No sockets, no upgrading. Crafted gear keeps socket flexibility and the Upgrade Orb path — these are fixed-stat sidegrades-plus, not replacements.
No HP. Nothing else in the gear pool grants HP, and adding it here would have created a whole new balance axis running sideways to DEF progression.
They don't carry you. A full set of either still falls short of Zone 21's recommended ATK/DEF on its own — you still need crafted gear, enchants, sockets, and potions to progress.
Mixed level gates. Raw-power pieces need true Combat level; utility and profession pieces accept your best skill instead.
