Some gear in IdleWorlds adds flat levels to a skill. A +4 Mining bonus means the game treats your Mining as 4 levels higher when it checks recipe, activity and zone-travel requirements, and when it works out your raid lend level. It's the closest thing the game has to a shortcut, which is why it's handled carefully. In October 2026 we checked every skill's ceiling and found they weren't equal, so we fixed it.
Before the change, Alchemy could reach two more levels than any other skill, because Ancient's Reagent Coil was the only trinket that gave a skill bonus. Woodcutting and Construction were two levels behind on buildings, because the 34 village buildings rotate through 9 skills and the last partial lap gave seven skills a fourth building. Construction also had the only +5 gloves in the game.
Now every non-combat skill tops out at the same +11. Skill gloves give +4: every skill has Tier 1 gloves at +4, and higher-tier skill gloves keep that +4 while adding combat stats, resists or utility. A profession trinket gives +2. Village buildings give +5: the first nine buildings give +1 each, Tiers 10 to 27 give +2, and Tiers 28 to 34 now give no skill level, though they keep all their other stats.
The eight new profession trinkets are built like the Reagent Coil: +2 to their skill, XP per task, a small resist and the skill's own bonus. Deepvein Lodestone (Mining) and Emberheart Anvilstone (Smithing) drop from the Cinderthrone Warlord in Zone 18. Rimebloom Satchel (Gathering) drops from the Frostveil Ancient in Zone 19. Stormwoven Grimoire (Spellcrafting) and Astral Loupe (Jewelcrafting) drop from the Stormforged Astral in Zone 20. Cinderthread Spindle (Tailoring) comes from the Emberclad Juggernaut in Zone 21, Rimebark Charm (Woodcutting) from the Rimewrought Sentinel in Zone 22, and Stormset Plumb Line (Construction) from the Duskstorm Herald in Zone 23.
These are the resist-gated special enemies: you need 30 of the zone's element resist to fight them in Zones 18 to 20, and 60 in Zones 21 to 23. Each enemy rolls its unique pool at 1 in 20,000 per win in Zones 18 to 20 and 1 in 50,000 from Zone 21, boosted by Item Find, and the trinket is one of several pieces in that pool, so they're a long-term chase rather than a quick pickup. If you're farming one, an Item Find loadout that still meets the resist requirement is the way to go.
Buildings take planning too. Village add-ons install into one slot per housing tier, up to five, so a full +5 for one skill uses three of your five slots. Most players will mix: the +2 buildings for their main crafting skill, plus the buildings whose other stats they want. The +Skill Levels page on the wiki lists every glove, trinket and building for every skill, computed from the live game data.
Combat has no +skill items, on purpose. Combat level gates gear and zones, so it's only earned by fighting.
